Romneycare

If Mitt Romney's plan is so much like Obama's plan, how can he win the GOP nomination? If the Republicans want to run against Obamacare, shouldn't they (and won't they) nominate someone whose plan is different from Obamacare? These questions are being asked. One thing I haven't seen addressed is that many of the people against Obamacare would not have a problem with his plan if they knew the details. They have a problem with SOCIALISM and DEATH PANELS and whatever else motivates them to think that such things are actually in Obamacare. So all the GOP has to do is convince people that their candidate does not favor socialism, while the other does. Then it keeps its base. You might say that would be harder to do if the GOP candidate is Romney, whose plan was, in actually, substantially the same as Obamacare. Is it really being claimed, then, that the GOP and Romney aren't audacious enough and able to convince the teabaggers of something other than the truth?
